Happiness is in the field

The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul. – Alfred Austin

I spent the evening picking tomatoes, beans, hot peppers, and ground cherries from our community garden. Not much was ripe today but I am certain there will be more tomorrow, and Friday for sure.

Just being alone in the field was relaxing and quiet and gave me an enormous feeling of productivity. If you haven’t gone to a pick-your own, or grown your own veggies in the side yard, I strongly recommend you do!
